Clearwater Yacht Club1 Rules
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).
1.2 The organizing authority is the Clearwater Yacht Club (CYC). The event will be held at the Clearwater Community Sailing Center (CCSC), 1001 Gulf Boulevard, Clearwater.
1.3 The regatta is designated Category C in accordance with ISAF Regulation 20.
1.4 Appendix P, Immediate Penalties for Breaking Rule 42, will apply.
2 Language
The official language for this regatta will be English.
3 Inspection and Measurement
Sail measurement will be
required at this regatta. Please ensure your sail numbers are applied in accordance
with ILCA class rules. Sails may be measured
prior to racing, and may also be spot checked at any time during the regatta.
Note that numbers and letters drawn on the sail with permanent ink pens are

4 Eligibility and Entry
4.1 Laser, Radial and Laser 4.7 competitors who are members
of the ILCA or their National Laser Class Association, may enter by completing
registration with the organizing authority.
5 Disclaimer of Liability
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk – See rule 4,
Decision to Race. The Organizing Authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or
death sustained in conjunction with or prior to during, or after the regatta.

1145 Skippers Meeting
1300 First warning signal, races to follow
Dinner served after racing
Friday, February 23
1100 First warning signal, races to follow
Saturday, February 24
1100 First Warning signal, races to follow
1830 Regatta Banquet
Sunday, February 25
1000 First warning signal, races to follow
Awards to follow ASAP after last race.
6.2 No race shall start after 1500 on Sunday.
6.3 Ten (10) races are scheduled, of which a minimum of three races must be completed to constitute a regatta.
7 Advance Registration
Competitors may register by completing the registration form and sending
it with the appropriate fees to:

Florida 33767.
8 Fees
8.1 Required Fees (checks should be made payable to Clearwater Yacht Club
Youth Sailing):
The entry fee for each skipper is $140 USD with a $30 late fee after February
10th, 2007.
8.2 The entry fee includes lunch for the competitors on each race day, two dinners and a regatta souvenir.
9 Sailing Instructions
The sailing instructions will be available during on-site registration.
10 Courses & Racing Area
10.1 The race committee will select courses based on conditions.
10.2 The racing area will be the Gulf of Mexico, south of the Clearwater Pass.
11 Scoring
11.1 The Low Point Scoring System, Appendix A2, will be used except as
modified below.
11.2 There will be one throwout when six or more races are completed. When 9 or more races are completed there will be two throwouts.
12 Radio Communication
A boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio
communication not available to all boats. This restriction applies to mobile telephones.
13 Administrative
Competitors will be welcome to arrive at the Clearwater Community Sailing Center
during the afternoon of Wednesday, February 21st. Competitors wishing to arrive
earlier may be subject to a nominal launching/storage fee and should make the arrangements directly
with the Clearwater Community Sailing Center.
