April 19th, 2008 was the Concours D'Elegance. With the the Yacht Club's parking lot full of classic vehicles, there was plenty to do and see. If you love classic cars, you'll enjoy these pictures. Thanks to Sandee Pfister for taking these photographs.

April 5th, 2008. Commodore Gene Fleming and his wife Sally were terrific hosts for the 97th Commodores Ball. Great food, good music and lots of fun. Thanks to Sandee Pfister & Miles Curry for the pictures.

March 29th, 2008 and the marina was full of boats dressed for the Annual Blessing of the Fleet. Thanks to the Blue Gavel for organizing this very traditional yacht club event. Photo's by John Hanson and Bev Dolezal.

February 9th, 2008 and the club was packed with couples celebrating at the Valentines Dinner and Dance. Great Food, Great Music and I'm told the word of the night was HOT! Photo's by Bev Dolezal and John Hanson.

January 27th, 2008 and Sandee Pfister was busy again taking photographs of the 7th Annual Chili Cook Off. Congratulations to Commodore Fleming, the 2008 overall winner. Other awards went to Bill Shackelford for the hottest chili, John Hanson for the most unique and Jack & Mitzie France for the best decorated booth.

December 15th, 2007 was the turn of the CYC Gulls to organize the annual Breakfast with Santa for members children an grandchildren. As is obvious from the photographs the children and parents had a very good time. Photo's by Sandee Pfister.

September 29th, 2007. Thanks to Bev Dolezal and Barrie Gustard for the pictures from the Pirates Party. This party was hosted by Bob & Terri Freiberg with costumes and effects by Karle & Dee Bucklew.

September 22nd, 2007. It was time for the children to have fun at the 1st Annual Kids Fishing Tournament. In one and half hours they caught over 40 fish from our dock. Did you know you can catch red fish (over seven lbs), grouper, snapper, needle fish and pin fish right off our docks? Thanks to donations from the Board of Directors, the Yachting Committee and Rusty Hoaglin, every child received a fishing pole, goody bag, t-shirt and lunch.

September 9th, 2007. At 9am it was a very busy morning at the club. The race comittee was preparing to leave the docks for day two of the South Eastern USA High School Championships and on the docks a spectacular and moving ceremony to remember the events of Sept 11, 2001 was about to begin. A very few of us were lucky enough to see both. The 9-11 Remembrance ceremony was terrific, if you missed it this year, do plan on it next year.

September 3rd, 2007. Labor Day weekend saw the club members come out for an old fashioned Florida style cook-out with friends and family enjoying the sun and water and poolside activities. The smash hit of the day was the water tunnel slide. It kept all the kids (young and much older) entertained all day long. Terrific pictures by Sandee Pfister and John Hanson.

September 1st, 2007. September started with a totally spiffed up look to our clubhouse. Manager Tom Brusini and the club staff scrubbed and cleaned and helped out the professional contractors that were hired so that we could give our favorite place a new face. The Grand Re-Opening Party to celebrate was more fun than should be allowed as the pictures taken by Compass Photography Corps member John Hanson show. If you missed the party - be sure to come to the club and check out the new look.

August 25th, 2007 Tim, Terri & Stacey Roberts and Scott & Carrie Herman hosted a hurricane party at the CYC. Luckily for us, the invited guest was a no-show. Photo's by Sandee Pfister and Bev Dolezal.

August 4, 2007. The CYC pets brought their owners to the club and they all had a good time. Great photos taken by Sandee Pfister.

June 23, 2007. It was close enough to the summer solstice to organize the Summers Longest Day Party. Joyce & Adrian Jenkyn were the hosts and Barry Gustard the photographer. It appears that a large time was had by all.

May 26th, 2007 the CYC hosted the UPARC clients for the Annual UPARC Fun Day. A wonderful time was had by visitors and members alike. Thanks to Sandee Pfister for these photographs and Tom & Beverly Brewer for organizing this special event.

May 6th, 2007 was the first Olympic Celebration Fundraiser and the members came out in force to celebrate the successes of the five CYC sailors who have qualified to compete in the USA Olympic Trials. Brenda Hanson did a superb job of organizing this and it was a great success.

November 24th, 2006 Another page in CYC's long history was written when Paige Railey was awarded the ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year trophy by HM King Constantine in Helsinki, Finland. Members from every committee and group at the CYC collaborated to host a spectacular champagne reception to celebrate this extraordinary accomplishment. January 25th, 2006 saw the celebration of Robert Burns Night complete with Haggis and the best malt whisky this side of the pond.

November 16th, 2005 was the Gulls Annual Christmas Boutique and Fashion Show featuring fashions from Dana's Boutique presented by Fashion Consultant, Sandee Pfister. Photography by Bev Dolezal.

On October 22nd, 2005 the entertainment committee transformed the Taver Bailey room into an elegant 19th century opera house for the Phantom Masquerade Ball.

And now for something completely different. On September 11, 2005 the pets of CYC members brought their owners out to the dry dock so that they could show-off.

Members dressed as their favorite shipwreck character for the Shipwreck Dock Party on August 13th, 2005.

A great time was had by all at the Howl at the Moon party on July 23rd, 2005. With over ten beers to blind taste few could figure out which they were. It was almost as much fun to watch as it was to participate.

The Country Western Party on July 16th, 2005 was a blast. There were plenty of desperados for the numerous sheriffs and marshals to try keeping in line. It was probably a good thing some of the cowgirls came armed to keep the rustlers at bay. Obviously a very good time was had by all.

July 4th, 2005 saw many members enjoying a casual pool party at the club and you have to check out those pool and pie eating contest photos submitted by Bev Dolezal.

April 16th, 2005 Commodore Ben Givens and his wife Sharon hosted the Commodore's Ball at the yacht club.

March 20th, 2005 Well this was different! A Segway Rodeo in our parking lot.

December 4, 2004 was the Annual Change of Watch, one of the Yacht Clubs more formal events. After leading the club through another successful year Commodore Powell passed the helm to Commodore Ben Givens. After flags had been exchanged and the cannon fired the party begun. With a capacity crowd for the Dinner Dance, partying continued until the wee hours. Click here for the photographs.

October 7th, 2004 was the Oktoberfest Party at the club. Beer, dancing, more beer and plenty of food. A great time was had by all. Thanks to Jay Coats & Lorrie Stirling for hosting this great party. Do check out the pictures.

April 3rd was the Commodore's Ball. This was a terrific evening to honor the current and past Flag Officers of the Clearwater Yacht Club. A wonderful menu and an all round great time we all will remember. Thank you Commodore Walt Powell and Peggy.

CYC celebrated its first Sock Burning Ceremony on Friday, March 19th, at the beginning of the Blessing of the Fleet weekend.   Commodore Walt Powell proclaimed that the terrible Florida Winter was over and Spring was here so it was time to burn our socks and panty hose as we prepare for boat shoe and sandal season again.  Many of the faithful CYC members dutifully threw their socks and pantyhose into the fire as commanded. You have to see these pictures!

March 17th, saw the Irish and some wanabees at the club to drink green beer and eat all that great food. Check out the pictures from this party.

December 6, 2003 was the Annual Change of Watch, one of the Yacht Clubs more formal events. After guiding the club through a very prosperous and successful year Commodore Brinkley passed the helm to Commodore Walt Powell. After flags had been exchanged and the cannon fired the party begun. April 23rd was the Annual Gulls Fashion Show, the theme this year was ladies in Red Hats & Purple Dresses.

April 12th, Commodores Ball was a terrific success, wonderful food, good company and great to see so many Past Commodores at the club. Thanks to Sandee Pfister for these pictures.

March 29th, saw the wild and crazy Spring Break group, partying hearty at the club. Got to check these pictures out!

March 10th, the Downtown Five-0-Five Club held their monthly social evening at the club. Looks like a very large time was had by all!

March 8 was another great evening to be at the club. The Rockin Dock party did just that and those tasty little crawfish...

The Valentine's Party was a great success. Hoyt Nichols, Barrie Gustard and Walt Powell kindly submitted these photos.

The Wine Society celebrated their inaugural event with the theme of "Romancing the Vine" and a very large time was had by all. Thanks to Peggy Powell we have these photos of another great evening at the club.

Thanks to Barrie Gustard for providing some great photos of the 2nd Annual Chili Cook off, even without the Bucs winning the game it would have great!
