| CYC celebrated its first Sock Burning Ceremony on Friday, March 19th, at the beginning of the Blessing of the Fleet Weekend. Commodore Walt Powell proclaimed that the terrible Florida Winter was over and Spring was here so it was time to burn our socks and panty hose as we prepare for boat shoe and sandal season again. Many of the faithful CYC members dutifully threw their socks and pantyhose into the fire as commanded. However, it took a little persuasion to get Club Manager Tom Brusini to follow the Commodore’s order but with the help of Gerri Fortino he finally complied. |
