Club Organization

The Clearwater Yacht Club is organized for the benefit of all its members with a system of checks and balances to be expected in one that can trace its origins back almost 100 years. Elected by the membership, Trustees look after the assets and capital funds of the Club and Directors and Members of the Board handle the annual operating budget and ensure that the various club activities are managed. But it is the members at large who plan and run most of the social and related happenings. Members chair all the activity committees.

Following yachting traditions, the Flag Officers serve a variety of roles for the Club. The Commodore is the CEO and oversees all of the Club's activities as governed by the Club by-laws. The Vice Commodore supervises the House & Grounds operations, looking for ways to make the Club even more user-friendly and enjoyable. The Rear Commodore is in charge of our parties and entertainment.

The Fleet Captain, in conjunction with Yachting, Cruising, Regatta and Youth Sailing committees is responsible for all the waterfront activities at the Club.

The Club Staff, is led by our professional General Manager who is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and management of the Club's facilities and operations.

The Clearwater Yacht Club is growing. It's the enthusiasm of our members that fuels this growth and results in great events and activities and the hospitality for which we are famous.

As we grow, new interests emerge and like-minded members promote new activities. We are probably the only Yacht Club that has a fleet of Land Cruisers. For more details, click on their information page on the left. We have a Book Club, a Wine Tasting Society formed in 2003 and our newest group just started, M & M ladies golf.

So take a look at the Club with the most diverse range of programs you will find in the area. And remember – you don't have be a boater to join – 44% of our members don't have one.
