The Book Club

The Clearwater Yacht Club Book Club is a loosely structured group of club members who like to read. Each month we select one book for the group to read and we meet on the 3rd Thursday at 6:00 at the Club to discuss the selected book. This is a very casual and informal get together.

We usually start the proceedings with a visit to the bar for our favorite potion, as literary repartee tends to make us thirsty. The person who selected the book of the month leads the discussion group. Sometimes we have all like the selected book; sometimes only some of us liked it and sometimes only some of us have read it!

We have read non-fiction, fiction, established writers and new and even first time authors. Sometimes we have somewhat intellectual discussions and sometimes we just have good fun. We end each evening with dinner together and perhaps a second selection from the bar.

If you like to read and think you would enjoy discussing the book you have just read in an informal and friendly atmosphere, The Clearwater Yacht Club Book Club is for you. You will be warmly welcomed by a group of your fellow club members, who like yourself, enjoy reading good books, having good fun and sharing friendly discussion.
